4/19/2025: Television is filled with soap operas about merciful monsters and larger than life heroes, as are movies, comics, books...everywhere you turn.

Tired of the same old tropes?

While there is something to be said for reliability, we as readers long for something unique. We want settings no one else is using for characters who are one of a kind.

*Akatiel: Born Angelica Davilla to upper middle class Panamanian emigrants in Santa Barbara, she finds herself in a distant past, adopted by a noble who is a mighty hunter by trade. Takachi teaches her his trade, but his chief captain Careb teaches her the art of the antediluvian warrior.

Each of my characters act certain ways because that's who they are. Akatiel has had two fathers: one a Santa Barbara businessman, a self-made man. The second, a man of integrity as well, skilled at the hunt. Both have taught her courage.

But it's a strange world, and her place in it uncertain. And life isn't always black and white. Sometimes there are greys involved, choices, hard calls that have to be made.

I've been lucky to have strong women in my life. Women who were soldiers, spies, firefighters, cops, teachers, caregivers, facing adversity without flinching, then showing tenderness for the people they love. Akatiel is my homage to all of them.

I believe you will find her as believable as I do, even in the midst of fantastic drama.

I think you will love Akatiel: Angel in Time and want to read more.

Whether legendary sagas or songs, I approach every piece of my art with the same desire to fill your longing for a good story while wanting more.

Order my books, download my songs. Or simply patronize my web pages, watch my videos.
